Culinary Herbs (Kilmora)

These dried herbs are sourced from small farmers, primarily women, and grown on marginal lands using only natural inputs. With the herbs being grown in Kumaon region of Uttarakhand, India

Rosemary, Sage, Thyme, Lemon Grass, Oregano, Peppermint, Mint, Parsley, Chilli Flakes or a combination of these.

Herbs and Herb Mixes:

  • Rosemary: One of the mainstays of most herb blends, rosemary is a great addition to bakes and roasts. Its piney, woody aroma adds warmth to vegetables as well as meats.
  • Sage: Strong, savoury and earthy, with notes of pine and citrus. A bit like the hills where it is grown.  Enhances dairy products, rich sauces and flavours all varieties of meat and sea food.
  • Thyme: Earthy and warm with sweet and peppery notes. Great in a spaghetti or a bake, in cheese or poultry dishes.  When dried, thyme retains its flavours better than most herbs.
  • Lemon Grass: An important part of Thai and other south-east Asian cuisines.  It is a magical addition to teas and rice. Boiling in water or oil releases the citrusy aroma of lemongrass.
  • Oregano: An indispensable ingredient in Italian herb blends and tomato based pasta sauces. Works great with salad dressings, eggs and in meats. Oregano is more flavourful dried than fresh.
  • Peppermint: Minty and refreshing. Make everyday drinks taste fresh and cool by adding peppermint. Crush some leaves into a lassi, fresh lime soda or green tea.
  • Mint: Refreshing flavour for tomatoes, potatoes, yoghurt, peas, fresh fruit salad and lemonade. Commonly used for treating stomach ailments and aiding digestion.
  • Parsley: Aromatic and strong. Use as a garnish, or in salad dressings, soups and sauces. Parsley is one of the most widely used herbs across the Middle-east, Europe, north America and Brazil.
  • Spicy Herb Blend: A blend of herbs and spices to enhance flavours of pizzas, pastas and continental dishes. (Contains a mix of Chilli, Ginger, Oregano, Parsley, Thyme) [Available in 50g pack]
  • Herb Blend: A quick and easy way to add some continental flavours to your food. This herb blend is a great salt free way of adding flavour to soups, stews, bakes or casseroles. (contains a mix of Oregano, Parsley, Sage, and Thyme) [Available in 40g pack]
  • Mirchi (Chilli flakes): Pahadi chillis are pungent and colourful. And what we use to make our chilli flakes. Made in-house, the chillis are sundried for added crispness before making flakes. Sprinkled in salads, topped on spreads, added as a garnish to meats, so many ways to use Kilmora Mirchi. [Available in 40g pack]
